Hi!
I got my husband to move a bunch of furniture for me earlier this week.
Not because I wanted to force him to use his muscles instead of skipping another workout, but because I wanted to make the house feel less claustrophobic.
It’s been months since we moved here, but we haven’t fully settled in.
Some of the boxes we swore would get unpacked in the first few weeks are still stacked up.
The basement we were going to set up as a hangout spot turned into a clutter zone instead.
But my biggest issue was the living room. We put all the stuff from our last living room in it - sectional sofa, coffee table, bookshelves, and the stand-mounted TV.
The only problem is that our old living room was bigger than the new one, and none of those things quite fit anymore. We could make most of it work, but the sofa would invariable fuck up the feng shui. It took up so much floor space that we had trouble moving around the room. And the ottoman was such a nuisance that we tipped it on its side and tucked it between one side of the couch and the wall.
Absolutely ridiculous.
So, I figured the best way to solve the problem was to get rid of the living room entirely.
Or really, move it to the basement. Because at least there, there’d be enough room for every piece of the sectional.
We cleaned it, cleared it, organized it, and then hauled all the living room stuff down there.
And it’s not exactly roomy, either. But it at least feels cozy, not cramped. It gives the kids a space to hang out during the day, a place for Mr. Austin to watch the occasional movie at night, and - well, I guess I could use it if I wanted to. But nah, I’d much rather just watch TV from the comfort of my bed.
That was another big motivation for rearranging stuff. I’m in major need of comfort right now.
For whatever reason, my body’s been giving me a lot of trouble lately. I’m always getting sore, aching all over, and wondering if I’ve pulled a muscle. And because I’m kind of stubborn, I try to push my body right up to its limits instead of just accepting them.
So, I have to go easy on myself physically - and I’ve got to go even easier when I’m recovering after doing too much.
Which means lots of time soaking in the bath, lying on my heating pad, and sinking into a big mound of fluffy pillows and blankets.
Going soft mode, basically.
Which isn’t super easy to do when you can’t get to your sofa without banging your shin against the coffee table. And not ideal when every room feels like it has more boxes than furniture.
So with the living room moved to the basement, some more boxes unpacked, and a few rooms getting tidied up, I could create spaces that would feel a lot cozier and comfier.
The living room is now the home office. That’s where we keep the two big plant shelves we use for growing lettuce and spring onions, the bookcases that are now starting to overflow with DVDs, the dog crate, a long-ass desk - and yeah a few unpacked boxes stacked in the corner.
The desk is where I keep my PC and Mr. Austin keeps his. So, I hop on there when I have to edit the podcast or put finishing touches on photos. But it’s really more his space, because he spends half the day working in front of his monitor.
My space is where our desk used to be. The former home office that is now turned into - well, I don’t fully know what to call it.
Because it’s my workspace first and foremost. It has the locked closet that hides all my sex dolls, sex machines, and a few wedges. It has the big metallic cabinet I bought to house all the sex toys that don’t need their own dedicated shelves. And I brought in the coffee table, hung up my string light curtain, and set up my box lights so it could double as my little product photography studio.
But it’s also one of my soft zones.
My big bed is still my main spot, especially since I just added some really fun and soft sex pillows to it. I’ve got the bath when I want to feel like I’m floating a bit.
And now, I’ve also got the makeshift studio space that has a cloth hammock I can hang up when I’m in the mood to rock and swing. There’s my big round chair, which I still love even though I don’t really have a practical use for it. I’m going to take the Esse sex chair out of storage and put it in there too.
Which is a really big luxury that I was very much missing. My obnoxious fragile body makes me feel limited, so I want to make the most of my very limited safe zones.
So it’s nice to have at least a couple of places where I can chill or jill, cuddle or fuck, and watch dirty movies or binge every season of New Girl - without feeling like I’ve twisted my muscles out of shape because of it.
I felt terrible asking Mr. Austin to take so much time out of his week to carry furniture down the stairs and tidy a bunch of rooms. But I’m really glad I did, because it’s already making such a big difference for me.
And maybe when the nerves in my legs stop feeling like they’re being yanked aggressively, I’ll repay his efforts by letting him and one of my fuckmachines tagteam me on the sex chair.
I’ll probably have to spend some time in soft mode after getting worked over like that. But at least now I’ll be able to do it in the hammock.
Love,
Emma ❤

Speaking of getting banged on the sex chair, I keep seeing people talk trash about jackhammer sex. So, I decided to pipe up and defend the pleasures of getting pounded at full force.
