Hi!
Everyone once in a while, I’ll rearrange the furniture.
I’m never going to stop doing it, either.
I don’t want to. It gives me life.
Almost nothing excites me like shifting the pieces of a room until it feels like a brand new space.
And that’s exactly what I did today.
I turned my office around. Like, I literally rotated it.
I put the couch where the desk was. I put the desk where the couch was. And I kind of shifted a few other things along the way.
I’m glad I did, because I’ve been picturing this for weeks.
I didn’t mind the way the room was set up before, but there were a few little problems with it.
I was getting too much of my desk clutter in photos - which is really distracting when I’m trying to flash the camera.
My cloud light was behind my desk, too. It looked nice, but it meant I couldn’t really use it as a backdrop for photos. And that’s really where it shines.
I also had a tough time seeing the computer monitor from the couch. I’d have to push the desktop out of the way and tilt the screen just to watch my trashy reality shows.
There were all these little things about the room that kept bugging me. Things I could probably solve by rotating it.
So I spent my Saturday afternoon pushing the furniture into place. I took the opportunity to tidy and organize everything, too.
And I put a big screen TV right next to my monitor so I can finally watch 90 Day Fiance the way it should be watched.
I was worried it would make my workspace a bit too busy. I guess it kind of does - it feels a bit more cramped when I sit in my chair and type away at the keyboard.
But it’s worth it.
Because lately, I’ve started to realize how much I miss watching stuff on a proper TV screen.
This all started back when Mr. Austin and I packed up and left our hometown.
We didn’t have a lot of space when we were moving from apartment to apartment. So, we tried to keep things light. We didn’t buy anything we didn’t need, except treats from the farmer’s market - those didn’t count.
That’s why we still don’t have a microwave. It’s why we’re a family of six but there never seems to be enough chairs for all of us. And it’s why we haven’t bought a TV in over ten years.
We didn’t bother because we didn’t have a problem watching anything.
We could watch movies in bed on our laptops. We’ve gone through a few different phones and tablets, too. We have a few desktop PCs scattered around the house, which felt close enough to a TV.
But slowly, we’ve managed to get a few proper TVs. They’re hand me downs. My father-in-law likes to upgrade his TV more often than people upgrade their phones, and we graciously accept his cast-offs.
Mostly so the kids can play four-player Mario Kart without having to squint at a small screen.
But now we had enough for me to take one.
And I was surprised at how good it felt.
I’ve been popping Season 2 of Friends into my DVD player and watching it on an actual TV. And I know they’re the exact same episodes I could be watching on Netflix in my Firefox browser. Something about this just feels better, though.
Could be the vibes.
Probably some nostalgia, too.
Maybe it’s because watching on a screen that can’t do anything else is kind of chill.
I don’t know.
But what I do know is that a big screen really makes a difference.
I didn’t think I would, because I can always just cozy up with my devices. I was wrong, though. Turns out having a little screen close to your face really isn’t the same as having a big screen across the room.
So, I’m a big screen girl now. All the way.
Except for porn.
I’m sure I’ll fucking love watching dirty movies on my big screen. But I’ve been sticking to my phone for now.
I’ve put some bouncy tits on the TV. And they were downright mesmerizing, but staring at them made me nervous.
But it made me nervous. I had this irrational fear that I was going to get caught, even though the door was locked shut.
It’s probably some kind of emotional flashback. It brings me right back to those early evenings sitting in front of the big boxy TV in my parents’ living room, watching bleached blondes rubbing their smooth pussies and riding hard dicks.
I can’t relax - I keep thinking I should be peeking out the window to make sure their car isn’t pulling into the driveway.
I’m sure I’ll try again eventually. Like seriously, those boobs looked incredible.
Until then, I’ll watch everything R-rated or less on the big screen.
And the next time I move the furniture around, I’m going to make damn sure I still have a clear view of the TV.
Love,
Emma ❤
This Week’s New Articles
It’s my blowjob articles that pay the bills, but the ones I write about insecurity feel more important to me. Because insecurities can do a lot of damage to relationships, ruin sex lives, and just plain bum everyone out. And a lot of guys seem to have insecurities about their partner’s exes. But there’s really no reason to worry about the guys she’s been with before - they’re not the ones you’re competing with anyway.
I didn’t include rearranging furniture in my list of depression-busting habits, but it definitely helps. It’s not something I can do every day though, so I’m going to keep relying on these five.
Can I interest you in something spicy? 🍑
