Hi!

I checked the forecast last weekend and saw some words I didn’t care for.

“Record-breaking heat.”

Yeah, that’s not great.

And they really weren’t kidding about that.

I watched the temperature climb to numbers I’d never seen before. Not in my neck of the woods anyway.

It was too much for this fragile Canadian to handle.

I stepped out the door a few times during the peak heat - and then stepped right back in. One minute out there and I was already turning into a wilting flower.

So, I just hunkered down until it was over.

Except it’s not really over. It’s just the start.

There will be more heatwaves.

And I don’t know how bad it will get next year, but it almost certainly won’t be any cooler.

Which has me thinking about getting off.

Not in the sense that it’s putting me in the mood to get down with my bad self. More that it’s making me realize that we’re all going to have to find a way to meet our horny needs when it’s too hot to go outside.

That’s going to require a few adjustments. But I’m chronically ill and my body aches in all sorts of inconvenient ways, so I’m no stranger to making accommodations.
