Well, it’s Easter and I guess I dropped the ball - or the egg basket.

Years ago, I fell madly in love with cargo bikes.

And it was everything I wanted it to be.
It took some adjusting - it’s a heavy and kind of clumsy ride. It takes a lot of leg power and it always feels like it wants to tip over just a little.
But I loaded up the kids and rode it around every chance I got.
Then I moved to a quaint little college town that I adored - except for one thing. The hills were steep and the roads were narrow. It took the fun out of riding a huge cargo bike - even without any actual cargo.
Last year was supposed to change that.
New home. New city. Sloping streets all around, but nothing that my legs couldn’t handle.
But this time it was my wrist. I hurt it badly and by the time it healed, everything was cold and covered in snow.
So that’s what I got super excited about this week.
Not Easter chocolates. Not the big Easter dinner I’m still looking forward to. Not even those painted big naturals - though I hope some of them will bless my Twitter timeline.
Nah, it was my bike I wanted the most.
I took it out, got Mr. Austin to pump up the tires, strapped on my matching light blue helmet - and off I went.
And I didn’t want to stop.
It was such a fun and invigorating ride.
It was easier than it had ever been - I guess having a few sex-related jobs gifted me with stronger thighs.
I spent a whole morning riding and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. All I want to do is get back on and have another ride.
I should’ve been writing about cute bunny girls or something, but I’ve just been having too much fun.
Oh well. Maybe I’ll make up for it on Mother’s Day.
